How to quickly find and add people you follow on X to Bluesky

Flock of blue birds.

If you’ve just opened a Bluesky Social account, you’re probably wondering how long it will take to find the people you follow on X (previously Twitter) and add them. If you’re thinking you need to do this one by one, you’re probably feeling a bit flummoxed!

Don’t fret! There is a quicker way.

Follow these steps to find and follow:

1 - Download and install the browser extension Sky Follower Bridge (works on Google Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge)
2 - Pin the extension to your browser's toolbar
3 - Log in to X and go to your 'Following' list
4 - Click on the Sky Follower Bridge extension icon
5 - Log in to your Bluesky account (use the 'app password' feature for added security) and click 'Find Bluesky users'
6 - Sky Follower Bridge will scan your X followers and generate a list of accounts for those who are on Bluesky. You can choose to follow individually or select 'Follow all.'

For more detailed instructions, check out this article from CNET.

*Note: the Sky Follower Bridge extension is not perfect and can mistakenly identify Bluesky accounts with similar names to those you follow on X. Double-check to be safe.

Currently, my Bluesky follower count looks nothing like the flock of birds in the accompanying photo. :) If you're using Bluesky and want to connect for more communications tips and insights, I'm there as Brendon Bosworth.
